From the vintage fabric collection at Miller Upholstering is this one-off 18" Mali indigo pillow that has a beautiful white cotton woven thread whip-stitched along one side, extending it's vintage story through visible mending and the stitcher's desire to make this gorgeous deep blue textile last years longer. I have pieces remaining of the panel and can work it into another project, but the best part of it has been made into this 18". It has invisible zipper closure and comes with a feather insert.
African cloth comes into the shop in person from my visiting textile representative from Mali. I look for unique characteristics of color, texture, pattern and condition to ensure they'll lend themselves to a variety of use and projects that customers most often ask for, which are pillows but can also be used in apparel, accessories, throws or light blankets, tableset accents such as runners, placemats, etc. I usually keep every scrap because it's so wonderful, so always have some on hand to use in handmade items or work into custom projects.
