Meet Sumi, a vintage inspired danish style lounge chair designed and built in collaboration between Helen Miller and woodworkerStafford Norris lll.
Sumi means "necessarily beautiful" and here we've made the wood frame in maple stained with black ink. We like to use Wood From The Hood in an effort to keep it local, but of more exotic woods are available. We can customize to your request of wood species, type of finish or painting frames to color match your decor scheme is also an option.
Cushions over typical Danish style elastic webbing make Sumi quite comfortable. They can be sewn in many ways. Shown in plain white is a boxed, corded and buttoned boxed cushions with back and bottom zippers concealed in-seam gives a very tailored and classic look.
Shown in Pendleton's design "River Tonal" - a Sunbrella jacquard that is sewn waterfall style with deep pleated corners for a relaxed look that doesn't interrupt the pattern.
The price of Sumi is for the chair and cushions to be made. 2 yds of fabric (mimimum) is a separate purchase to which we take great pleasure in discussing with you!
