Mali Indigo with Visible Mending Pillow

Regular price $110.00 Sale

From the vintage fabric collection at Miller Upholstering is this one-off 18" Mali indigo pillow that has a beautiful white cotton woven thread whip-stitched along one side, telling it's vintage story through visible mending and the stitcher's desire to make this gorgeous deep blue textile last years longer.

The charm of vintage African cloth is in each textile's handmade characteristics and time-worn imperfections from which we can intuit a certain story, or life of the cloth. In Mali, it is hand-dyed, handwoven into strips and these strips whip-stitched by hand to create yardgoods for garments or decor.  I buy them as "panels" from my African salesman when he comes to town and then fabricate by hand and machine at Miller Upholstering shop in Minneapolis Minnesota!

Sold as zippered Cover Only. 18"  INSERT SOLD SEPARATELY
